Barcelona have confirmed that Luis Suarez is moving to Atletico Madrid.
The Uruguayan had a year left on his contract at the Camp Nou - but was not in the plans of new boss Ronald Koeman.
A Barca statement read:
''FC Barcelona and Atletico Madrid have reached an agreement for the transfer of the player Luis Suarez.
"The Madrid club will pay FC Barcelona 6m euros in variables.
"FC Barcelona would like to publicly express their gratitude to Luis Suarez for his commitment and dedication and wishes him all the best for the future.
"On Thursday 24 September from 12.30pm CEST there will be a farewell event for the player and following that a remote press conference.
''You can see all the day's event surrounding the Uruguayan striker's goodbye live on Bara TV+, FC Barcelona's official digital streaming platform."
He helped the club win four LaLiga titles, four Copa del Reys and the Champions League in 2015.
He was originally rumoured to be moving to Juventus.
However, delays in getting an Italian citizenship for the striker called the move off.
Juve could not recruit him without an Italian passport because they have already reached their quota for non-EU players.
Instead, Juve plumped for Atleti's Alvaro Morata on loan.
That left a gap for their side in a player for leading the line.
Suarez fills that gap nicely.
Suarez and Diego Costa on the same team?
Prepare for plenty of goals -- and plenty of scraps.
