At such a young age, Billie Eilish has emerged as the most successful pop musician in the world with multiple chart-topping hits and prestigious awards to her name. And yet, the “Birds of a Feather” songbird still retains close relationships with her longtime fans.
Appearing on Jimmy Kimmel Live!, the 22-year-old compared seeing familiar faces at her concerts over the years to “seeing old friends again.”
“What’s been so cool is that all of these fans, all of my little family, we’ve been growing up at the same time,” Eilish said to host Jimmy Kimmel. “So many kids, especially in L.A. because I’m from here and I’m around and stuff, when I was first starting out there would be certain kids that I would see at everything I would do, and we were all the same age.”
The Grammy-winning artist continued, “So they would come to stuff and I would see them multiple times a year and then not for a couple years, and then I’d see them again. Over the years I’ve seen the same faces multiple times, and it feels like seeing my old friends again.”
During the interview, the “Bad Guy” singer also shared a video of her interaction with fans after a recording. In the clip, the two-time Oscar winner can be seen rolling down her window to greet fans waiting on the street for her and recognizing one of them.
“Oh my god, you look good!” Billie said to a fan, who she said grew up with her in Los Angeles.
Beaming, the pop star gushed about familiar faces who’ve been supporting her for a long time: “Over the years, I’ve seen the same faces multiple times. Like, there’s some in here, there’s some outside, I recognize them, obviously.”
Eilish is currently promoting her latest album “Hit Me Hard and Soft.” The ten-track album, her third, has been doing gangbusters on the charts with hits like “Birds of a Feather” and “LUNCH.”
