Gardaí issue update after post mortem following e-scooter death


Garda have issued an update after a post mortem was carried out on the body found in unexplained circumstances in Meath on Saturday.


At around 3am, Garda attended the scene on the N51 in Harmanstown, Slane.


The male, who was travelling on an electric scooter from the direction of the town, was treated by ambulance services after being found unconscious.


He was later pronounced dead.


An update from the Garda this morning said:


''Garda at Navan continue to investigate the discovery of a body in unexplained circumstances on the N51 in Harmanstown, Slane, County Meath, in the early hours of Saturday, 26th September, 2020.


''A post mortem on the deceased, a male in his late twenties, has taken place.


''The results of the post mortem are not being released for operational reasons.


''Following the post mortem, An Garda Sochna are not looking for any other person or any other vehicle in relation to this incident.


''Garda at Navan continue to appeal for any witnesses or for anyone with information to come forward.


''Garda continue to appeal for any road users who may have camera footage (including dash-cam) who were travelling on the N51 in Harmanstown between approximately 1:30am and 3:00am to make this footage available to Garda.
