Irish goalkeeper Gavin Bazunu added to Man City Champions League squad

Republic of Ireland Under-21 goalkeeper Gavin Bazunu has been added to Manchester City's Champions League squad.

Bazunu will join the City squad for the remainder of the tournament, taking the place of Leroy Sane after the winger joined Bayern Munich.

Scott Carson left the club in July, which means Bazunu is now City's third choice goalkeeper.

City face Real Madrid in their last-16 second-leg on Friday, holding a 2-1 advantage from the first game.

Bazunu has been training with Pep Guardiola's first-team squad for a number of weeks.

The 18-year-old has played for City's Under-23 team and in the UEFA Youth League.

Ederson and Claudio Bravo are ahead of Bazunu in the pecking order at City.

Bazunu earned his move to City after impressing in the Shamrock Rovers first-team at the age of 16.
