Netflix has released a trailer for one of its popular series, indicating that Jenna Ortega will not be returning.

At just 21 years old, Ortega has emerged as one of Hollywood's up-and-coming talents, starting her career as a child actor in the comedy-drama "Jane the Virgin."

Since then, she has featured in a variety of films and TV shows, including the series "Wednesday."

"Wednesday," which centers on the character Wednesday Addams from the Addams Family, propelled Ortega into the spotlight and set records on Netflix.

Although it might seem predictable that a show associated with Tim Burton would succeed, Ortega expressed that the show's success left her "very confused emotionally."

In a Vanity Fair interview, Ortega spoke about the challenges of adapting to her newfound fame, admitting she "didn't know what to say or do."

"I have been doing this for 12 years. It's weird to look back on all the experiences that I've had doing the job that I do. And then to be here now is … I don't know, I feel like it's some sort of sick prank," the 21-year-old shared with the publication.

The star of "The Miller's Girl" described her rise to fame as almost an out-of-body experience.

"Everything that's happened — it almost feels like another person that people are talking about," she said.

"I don't feel attached to my name at all, or people's perception of my name."

Her standout performance in "Wednesday" has opened doors to more opportunities for Ortega – she is set to star in the eagerly awaited sequel to "Beetlejuice."

In an interview with Vanity Fair, the actress expressed her enthusiasm that "Beetlejuice" was selected for a reboot among many possible movies and TV shows.

"I feel like studios nowadays, of course, they want people in seats and you've got to do reboots or sequels or things like that to get people entwined, but to bring Beetlejuice back – of all of the stories – is so good because people need to revisit weird, strange, off-putting stories again," she explained.

However, despite her ongoing success, one of Ortega's projects has taken an unexpected turn – a newly released trailer suggests her character has been killed off.

Social media users have expressed their heartbreak over the recent trailer, with one person saying, "I swear I'm gonna be so mad and I'm gonna hate humans (my own kind) for the rest of my life."

Another shared, "I am actually gonna cry because when I heard she died I shed a tear."

"I don't wanna think she dead," commented another viewer.

A fourth user simply stated, "Oh no."

Ortega lent her voice to the character Brooklyn in "Jurassic World Camp Cretaceous."

This show, which lasted five seasons, is an animated action-adventure series about a group of teenagers trying to survive as dinosaurs break free from their enclosures.

Its sequel, "Jurassic World Chaos Theory," is set to be released soon, and it seems that Ortega's character does not survive.

The trailer depicts Brooklyn being killed off in the first 10 seconds. Additionally, Deadline has reported that Ortega's name is no longer listed on the show's voice cast.

Ortega is not the only one not returning; the character Kenji, previously voiced by Ryan Potter, will now be portrayed by Darren Barnet.
