After a dry and breezy evening, Met Eireann has confirmed that temperatures are set to reach well into the twenties this weekend, with the best of the good weather in the East of the country.
There will be some sunshine to begin and end the day across most areas on Thursday, however, it will become cloudy in the afternoon, with showery rain affecting southern counties.
"Some showery rain will move into western counties later in the afternoon too".
Top temperatures will range from 19 to 23 degrees, as it will be a little cooler along southern coasts.
On Friday there will be some rain in the west and north in the morning, but it will be mainly dry to start in the east.
"The rain will move eastwards and then finally clearing through the evening".
Temperatures will still reach between 18 and 24 degrees with a fresh southwest wind, veering westerly later and moderating.
Saturday will be dry with sunshine and light winds with temperatures of 18 to 20 degrees.
A similar day on Sunday with light variable or easterly winds giving higher temperatures in the west of the country, up to 22 degrees possible there.
According to the Irish forecaster, predictions show the early days of next week will "promise a good deal of dry weather with temperatures around typical for the time of year."
