Caleb Willingham's Cause Of Death Officially Confirmed

Caleb Willingham, the husband of "1000-lb Sisters" star Tammy Slaton, passed away last year at the age of 40.

The couple met at a rehabilitation center in Ohio, where they quickly developed a deep connection and decided to marry.

Their marriage lasted five months before they announced their decision to separate.

Willingham's death was reported last year as an untimely loss.

Recently, officials have released the official cause of Caleb Willingham's death.

In July 2023, Willingham's younger brother used Facebook to announce the devastating news of his passing.

"I can't believe I'm even making this post, but today GOD called my big brother home," he wrote.

"RIP Caleb Willingham aka Killla K aka Double K aka one-half of the dynamic WWF tag team champions The W Boys aka my biggest supporter in anything I do."

"You will be forever loved and missed. Until we meet again."

Slaton expressed her grief in a personal tribute.

She told People: "I am devastated to share the news of my husband's passing. He was my best friend and I loved him dearly."

"When I met Caleb he became my guardian angel and now he really is watching over me."

"Our families appreciate everyone's sympathy and ask that you respect our privacy at this time."

In response, a fan wrote: "This one hits too close to home man, my heart can't believe what I'm reading y'all don't even know."

Another added: "Oh no, I'm so sorry! This makes me so sad. Caleb was one of the sweetest guys I've ever known. I'm so glad he and I crossed paths many years ago."

While a third commented: "Omg. Prayers to you, Tammy, and all his friends and family."

She addressed her loss in a TikTok video on July 2, just two days following her husband's death, saying: "I hate getting on here and letting everybody see me like this."

"I'm having stages of grief. Yeah, we were having problems, but I loved that man. I still do."

She continued: "I miss him like crazy, but I wanted to thank everybody for your comments. I appreciate them, I really do. We're not going to get into details of what happened. I think that, no offence, but that's really personal."

As time passed, more information emerged regarding the circumstances of Willingham's death.

According to details obtained by Radar Online from the Gibsonburg Police Department, emergency services, including police and medical teams, were dispatched to the Windsor Lane facility after reports surfaced of a person found unresponsive.

An officer who arrived on site was stationed outside the individual's room, waiting for a forensic investigator to arrive.

Attempts to contact Willingham's physician for insights into any pre-existing health conditions were unsuccessful.

Despite efforts to perform life-saving procedures, the TLC star was ultimately declared deceased as these attempts were unsuccessful.

"The death was then turned over to the Sandusky County Coroner Office due to the EMS Captain being unable to make contact with the patient's personal physician," the police report stated.

"This Officer was advised that [a forensic] investigator would be responding. The officer remained at the door of the room to ensure the scene was secure until [the] investigator arrived."

The police report stated: "Medical staff were on-scene with the patient when he became unresponsive."

"During this Officer's involvement with the incident, there were no indications of any criminal activity. This death investigation is concluded by this department."

The official cause of death for Willingham has been determined.

The Lucas County Coroner's Office case summary, as reported by Radar Online, states that Willingham died of natural causes.

He was found to have a significantly enlarged heart with expanded cardiomyocytes, which are cells of the cardiac muscle, along with irregular interstitial fibrosis, indicating scarring in the lungs.

Willingham also had extensive mucus buildup in his bronchi, with his left lung collapsed and the right lung only partially inflated. His liver was also notably enlarged and fatty.

The final forensic toxicology report identified Hydrocodone in Willingham's system, a semi-synthetic opioid typically used for pain management and cough suppression.

According to Radar Online, Willingham was discovered unresponsive at the rehabilitation center where he passed away.

Despite the paramedics' intense efforts to revive him, their attempts ultimately proved futile.
