Meghan Markle's Clinginess To Harry At The Event Raises Red Flags

A reporter notes that in the early days of her royal duties, a newly married Meghan Markle displayed an obvious "red flag" by clinging to Prince Harry at an event.

During a visit to Loughborough University, the actress-turned-royal was photographed with her new husband, approximately 16 months before their famous announcement to step away from the Royal Family.

Reflecting on this visit, Maia Snow suggests that there were indications that the royal dream might not endure, pointing out how uncomfortable Meghan seemed in the situation during the 2018 photo call.

While Harry appeared comfortable in his role, cracking jokes and casually engaging in activities like throwing a ball around, his partner didn't seem to share the same ease. "With hindsight, photos from the day paint an obvious picture that this was not the world for Meghan."

"She looked incredibly uncomfortable while she played catch with the students, her wide stance and lost look should have tipped us all off that she wasn't going to continue with her royal duties."

"By far though the biggest glaring error was her, or perhaps her stylist's, choice of shoes."

"While Princess Kate always makes sure she is wearing trainers, or sports gear, and ties her hair up for any hands-on visits, Meghan did not follow her sister-in-law's immaculate and well-practised style."

It was also notable that the Duchess of Sussex chose to wear stilettos for the Coach Core Awards event, despite its sport-focused nature and its aim to provide sports coaching apprenticeships for unemployed young adults.

"However, for me, and I imagine all the other journalists gathered there, the most obvious red flag was how much Meghan clung to Harry throughout the day.

"If he moved away, she quickly followed, and even if she was having her own conversation with a student, her husband was always nearby." The Duke and Duchess of Sussex initially announced their decision to "step back" from their positions as senior members of the Royal Family in January 2020.
