Spider-Man: Miles Morales has an easter egg for Irish players

There have been some classic Irish references in video games before.

We've had Father Ted earning a spot in Grand Theft Auto V.

We know that we've got a special add on for Assassins Creed: Valhalla coming next year, set on the Emerald Isle.

But this new one from Spider Man: Miles Morales is cheeky.

The jewel in the crown for Sony after they launched their PS5 last week, the game is getting rave reviews so far.

But it's got a pretty stern view on the topic of a United Ireland.

If you travel to the United Nations in the game, the Irish flag outside is not the tricolour.

Instead, it's the green harp flag, synonymous with Ireland before the 1801 Union Act.

First spotted by reddit user u/gothamite27, many users rushed to see if it was true.

Based on the Marvel Comics superhero Miles Morales, it is the second game in the Marvel's Spider-Man series, following Marvel's Spider-Man.

The game shares its environment with its predecessor.

Miles Morales begins with the ability to use webs to swing and attack enemies and crawl and run on walls. At key points in the storyline, he gains Venom Blast (the ability to incapacitate his enemies with electricity), Camouflage (temporary invisibility), and Mega Venom Blast (the ability to attack multiple nearby enemies with his venom blast).
