The latest tweet from President Donald Trump dissing late-night hosts earned a scathing response from Stephen Colbert, who addressed the Trump tweet in his monologue during Thursday’s edition of “The Late Show with Stephen Colbert”.
In his tweet, Trump slams the “three very weak and untalented late night ‘hosts’,” quoting a “Fox & Friends” contributor who wonders what they’ll do in 2024 when he’s no longer POTUS:
The three very weak and untalented late night “hosts” are “fighting over table scraps. Carson did a great job, it wasn’t political. I don’t know what they’re going to do in 2024 when he’s no longer President? Will be wacky in the unemployment line.” Michael Loftus @foxandfriends

“First of all, sir, three?” Colbert quipped, reminding Trump that there are way more than three late-night hosts these days (Colbert’s comments come at the 4:45 mark in the video above).
“James Corden, Seth Meyers, Sam Bee, Trevor Noah, Conan, Desus & Mero are just as weak and untalented as me and the Double Jim Jims.”
“And what do you mean, what are we going to do when you’re not president? First, there’s the parade….” Colbert joked.
As for what they’ll do in the late-night unemployment line, Colbert advised Trump to tune in and find out for himself — that is, “if the warden gives you TV privileges.”
