Teenager charged after homeless man found murdered in Dublin


A male juvenile arrested in connection with the murder of a homeless man in Kilmainham has been charged


A male teenager, 16, has been charged in connection with the murder of a homeless man in Dublin in the early hours of Monday morning.


It is understood the deceased, a man in his 40s, was savagely beaten and his phone was stolen sometime before 1:30am on a laneway off Madison Road in Kilmainham.


The man died from his injuries at the scene.


The Irish Times reports that the 16-year-old was arrested after another teenager who witnessed the attack notified gardai.


A garda spokesperson said: "The male juvenile arrested in relation to the murder of a man in a laneway off Madison Road, Kilmainham, Dublin 8 has been charged.


"He is due to appear before the Dublin District Children Court at 10:30am this morning, Tuesday 15th September 2020."
