Transgender YouTube Star Gigi Gorgeous Explains Why She Backed Out Of Sex Reassignment Surgery

Transgender YouTuber Gigi Gorgeous just dropped a new revelation: she was ready to undergo gender reassignment surgery, but decided to back out at the last minute.

Opening up in a new video (above), the 26-year-old said she had travelled to Thailand and was discussing the procedure with a doctor when she suddenly had a change of heart.

“Usually, when I set my mind to something, I just am committed and I follow through and I end up doing it, but in this case, the surgery was so intense and invasive,” she explained.

“Like, I have been through some pretty scary things in my life surgically, but this just seemed so hard to overcome and intimidating, and just, like, body mutilating,” she added.

Born a male, she came out as a trans woman in 2013, and has undergone an array of procedures since then, including a tracheal shave, hormone replacement therapy, facial feminization surgery, electrolysis and breast augmentation.

In her video, she recalled “feeling really, really strongly” about undergoing the surgery, believing it finally make her “complete.”

“I feel like a lot of trans people feel that and they feel like they’re not ‘done’ until they get the bottom surgery or whatever it is that makes them happy,” she continued, but admitted she’s witnessed her share of botched surgeries over the years.

“After you get it, obviously, there’s not going back, which is why it’s kind of such a mind f**k,” she added.

“I would only want to do this one time. For the love of God, I don’t want to get mutilated twice down there,’ she said, adding, “I have had a lot of friends who have gotten the surgery. I’ve seen a lot of vaginas — post-vaginas — and some are gorge and functioning and some are not so gorge.”

After meeting with the doctor, she explained, she found herself feeling “so unsure it wasn’t even funny. I feel like if you are going to do something like this, you should be f**king excited. You should be on the edge of your seat, like, ‘God I wish I could fast-forward three days.’ But at that point, I was kind of dreading it,” she said.

“I didn’t go through with the surgery, and I am really, really happy I didn’t,” she shared. “I don’t know what my reassignment surgery story looks like. I’m just taking it day by day and what feels right to me because this is my body. I have to live with this every single day, and when that moment comes, I want it be perfect.”
