Two men arrested following seizure of €60,000 worth of cannabis

The Garda have made two arrests after a surveillance operation in Swords saw a handover witnessed by officers.

Garda from the Drugs and Organised Crime Bureau witnessed the incident at around 10am on October 29.

3kg of cannabis was seized, with an estimated value of 60,000.

Two men were arrested.

Both are being held in custody before a court appearance this afternoon.

A Garda statement said:

''Garda have arrested two men following the seizure of 3kg of cannabis estimated to be worth 60,000.

''The cannabis herb was discovered in Swords yesterday (29 October) at approximately 10am when officers from the Gardas Drugs and Organised Crime Bureau witnessed what they believed to be a drugs handover during a surveillance operation.

''The men, one in his 30s and one in his 20s, were remanded in custody and are due appear before the Criminal Courts of Justice this afternoon, Friday 30 October 2020''
