The ceremony took place at Capital Hill today in a ceremony like no other.
Masks were worn by all in attendance, and flags replaced the crowds that would usually congregate to witness the ceremony.

He spoke about uniting America in his speech to the nation.
Biden urged the country to 'lower the temperature, and to keep a cool head'.
He spoke about the riots at Capitol Hill, and how it did not deter democracy.

He finished his speech, saying 'America has been tested and we overcame it. We will engage with the world again, not to beat yesterday's challenge, but to prove we can lead by example.
"As my first act as President, I ask you to join me. We can be the Nation I know we can, and should be," he finished.
