Woman (60s) pronounced dead following fatal road collision in Lusk


A woman in her 60s has died followoing a fatal road traffic collision in Lusk, CO Dublin on Saturday (23 January).


Garda and Emergency Services attended the scene of a fatal road traffic collision that occurred on the R127 at Blakes Cross in Lusk, Co.Dublin on Saturday evening


The collision, which involved two cars, occurred just after 6pm. A driver in one of the cars, a 60-year-old woman, was pronounced dead at the scene a short time later following the collision.


The driver of the second car, a woman in her 50s, was taken to Beaumont Hospital. Her injuries are not believed to be life threatening.


The body of the deceased has since been removed from scene. The Coroner has been notified and a post mortem has been arranged.


The road was closed for a period as Forensic Collision Investigators examined the scene but has since fully reopened to traffic.


Garda are appealing for any witnesses to this collision to come forward and for any road users who may have camera footage (including dash-cam) who were travelling in the area at the time to make this footage available to Garda.
