Every year, the Super Bowl becomes the prime spot to launch trailers for upcoming big budget blockbusters. This year is no different. From the return of prehistoric beasts to the return of MCU’s most beloved antiheroes, this year offers a lineup of star-studded, high-octane movies to entice you to go to the cineplexes.
Thunderbolts
Step aside, Marvel’s mightiest heroes, the Thunderbolts are here! Collecting fan favorite sidekicks across multiple film franchises within the MCU franchise, the Thunderbolts’ irreverent first trailer gives you an idea of the kind of mischief and mayhem these characters will get into. Just what you need to shake off the superheroes fatigue!
Jurassic World Rebirth
Starring The Avengers’ Scarlett Johansson, Green Book’s Mahershala Ali and Wicked’s Jonathan Bailey, the upcoming Jurassic movie reboot takes you back to the island that started it all… again. This time, a new group of explorers and scientists are hired on a dangerous mission to the dinosaurs-infested island. The trailer already promises ferocious actions and crazier dino hybrids – just what you can expect from the franchise.
MISSION IMPOSSIBLE 8: The Final Reckoning
Tom Cruise’s Ethan Hunt is ready to accept one final mission (so he said) and he’s gone to even more dangerous lengths than usual. The Super Bowl trailer gives snippets to some of the crazy stunts that its maverick leading man takes on as the world crumbles around him. Dangling off a plane, diving with limited oxygen… there’s no limit to what Cruise would do!
LILO & STITCH
The mischievous alien from Disney’s beloved animation finally comes to life this year. And true to his origin, he’s wreaking havoc in the middle of the Super Bowl… though really, who can actually be mad at this cute blue critter?
HOW TO TRAIN YOUR DRAGON
Yet another beloved animated movie turned live action, How to Train Your Dragon finally unveils its first full trailer. Just like the original, it looks to be jam-packed with thrilling adventure and heartfelt bonds between dragon and riders, this time in human form.
F1
Directed by Top Gun: Maverick director and starring Brad Pitt, F1 looks to be a fun romp that is also, gasp, original. It follows a retired former F1 driver (Pitt) who’s roped in to coach a young up-and-comer in the high-octane world of racing. Made in collaboration with Formula One, it has claimed to be the most authentic racing movie and the trailer definitely delivers that.
