“Wednesday” just releases a mayhem-filled new trailer for its forthcoming second season. With it, the show also unveils its premiere date. The sophomore season, which follows a record breaking 2022 debut, will arrive in two parts: the first on August 6, 2025 and the next on September 3.
The trailer begins with typical kooky “Wednesday” humor. Standing in line at airport inspection, Jenna Ortega’s titular poker-faced heroine must empty out her pockets, revealing various weaponries like taser, mace and blades. It then transitions into snapshots of plot teasers including the return of Tyler (Hunter Doohan) the shapeshifting beast and yet another serial killer in Nevermore.
We also see glimpses of beloved characters including Wednesday’s family — mom Morticia Addams (Catherine Zeta-Jones), dad Gomez Addams (Luis Guzman), brother Pugsley (Isaac Ordonez), and Uncle Fester (Fred Armisen) — as well as new ones like Wednesday’s grandmama (Joanna Lumley) and Nevermore principal, Barry (Steve Buscemi). And not to forget, Wednesday’s chirpy best friend Enid (Emma Myers) of course!
The action packed trailer, set to a gloomified “My Favorite Things” from “The Sound of Music”, promises everything you want from the horror comedy series. From the visionary Tim Burton, you can expect Gothic visuals, spooky mysteries, and morbid humor.
